Cancellations
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time to avoid a cancellation fee of 50% of your total fee for services booked. Future appointments will not be made until your invoice is paid in full.
After more than one cancellation, you may be required to pre-pay to make future appointments.
No Shows
In the event we arrive for a scheduled appointment and find no one there to release the pet to our care, the pet is unable to be groomed due to undisclosed aggression or health concerns, or you are not able to secure your pet, the full amount of your appointment will be due.
Future appointments will not be made until this amount is paid in full.
Veterinary Care
We make every effort to ensure your pet’s grooming is pleasant and safe; however, if your pet becomes ill or is hurt and the services of a veterinarian are required, you hereby give us permission to obtain treatment if you are not available to do so, and you agree to pay such expenses. It is your responsibility to keep your pet up-to-date on their vaccinations.
Safety
Safety comes first for everyone during the grooming process, people as well as pets. You must inform us prior to grooming if your pet has bitten someone or has aggressive tendencies. Owners will be held liable for any bites or any property damage (including all contents of our van) caused by their pets. We will stop the grooming process if we feel your pet’s behavior is compromising his safety or ours. Pro-rated charges will apply.
Senior Pets and Pets with Health Problems
Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior pet or pet with health problems. Grooming can expose hidden medical conditions or aggravate existing conditions during or after the grooming process. Because seniors pets and pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort in styles that will not add to their stress. Pawsitively Purrfect will not be responsible for an accident or injury to an elderly or health compromised pet during their groom.
Parasites
We reserve the right to refuse services to any pet(s) that may have parasite problems other than ticks or fleas. Please understand that the grooming process may infest the grooming area and pose a risk of infestation to any and all other pet(s) being groomed. There is an additional $25-35 fee depending on the severity for any pet found to have fleas or ticks. This covers the additional grooming process required to remove these parasites as well as the additional cleaning and sanitizing needed to insure our van is parasite free for our next client.
Mat Removal
Removing a heavily matter coat includes risks of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles, or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the pet’s skin allowing mold, fungus, and bacteria to grow causing skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. After effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations, or abrasions and failure of the hair to regrow. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn and should either be kept out of the sun or have sun screen applied until the hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavior changes. Pawsitively Purrfect will groom the dog slowly, use proper tools for removing the matting and follow with a skin soothing shampoo and conditioner. Extra charges will incur for matted dogs and a final quote cannot be given until the dog is finished. As the owner, you are responsible for the condition of your pet’s coat and may not hold Pawsitively Purrfect responsible in the event of adverse effect of mat removal. We are more than happy to suggest proper tools and procedures needed to maintain your pet’s coat in between professional grooming appointments.
Shave-downs
Shaving a heavily coated dog is not recommended. In both hot and cold weather, a dog’s coat helps regular body heat, provide insulation, and protect from the sun/ Coats that are shaved off may grow back patchy, uneven, or not at all. Pawsitively Purrfect will groom your pet to your preference, but will not be responsible for any affects this may have on the coat thereafter.
Returned check policy
Returned checks will be subject to a $36.00 returned check fee in addition to the full amount of the returned check.
Payment:
We accept cash and checks. Payment is due at the time of services rendered. Failure to have payment available at the time of services may result in a late payment fee of 15%. Clients are given an approximate cost prior to grooming; however, factors such as the pet’s condition, actual size and behavior may affect the total due.
Receiving Policy
Upon the first visit, Pawsitively Purrfect requires you to be present. This allows you to meet the groomer and the groomer to meet your pet in a comfortable setting. In addition, we find that going over the pet together and evaluating their condition and your expectations for their groom is an essential part of starting a satisfactory grooming relationship. After the first appointment, your presence is welcome, but not required. If you will not be home, we ask that you let us know in advance where your pet, their leash, and payment can be found. We will return your pet and secure your home after their grooming session. We do hold many home codes and keys for clients and can assure you that we do everything in our power to safeguard them.
